new chapter

I'm officially employed! I feel like this is a totally new chapter in my life. My student life has ended last March, and from that time til May 15, I was a bum. But now, I am officially part of the employment statistics.

I started just this week, May 16 to be exact. So far, life has been kinda lax since Monday. I still didn't have any reports to do (coz I didn't know how to do them the time they were supposed to be filed). I'm still learning the ropes of my position. I'm reading financial reports and financial statements about the operations of the company so that I have an idea of how the company is faring in the industry right now.

It's almost lunch time and I've nothing much to do that's why I'm adding an article to my not-so-updated blog. I finished doing a report just an hour earlier, just so I would get to familiarize myself with it and I would be able to do the report the next time around (hopefully the Monday after next week coz I may not be in office this coming Monday as I have to be in training that time). It was fine, kinda long but I can get by. And I'll be doing that and much more every Monday once I start with it. (Not bad, it's actually fun though a bit mechanical and technical).

What's fun about my work is that I get to learn more about the industry that we are in. I also like the feel of knowing how to interpret financial statements just by the numbers written there. Call me a nerd, but it is fun. I never knew that financial statements could actually tell you a story about the company. Well, teachers back in college were telling us that, but I never really got to validate that until now.

I'm excited to start doing the analysis part. I'm sure that's gonna be fun. I just hope that I won't get too swamped with work a few weeks from now.

Anyway, I'll stop here. I think we have to go out to lucnh already coz I'm due for a meeting by 1:00pm. (Yikes, my first week here and I'm already to attend a meeting with the higher ups).
